ExecutiveOS + DesignOS
A single command center over a portfolio of business units that refuses to fake a number — every value on screen carries its provenance, and anything unmeasured says so instead of showing a made-up zero. It runs our own company daily.

Chamber II · The problem
The starting point
A founder running several ventures has state scattered across repositories, stores, and tools. Conventional dashboards either demand constant manual updates or quietly display stale and invented numbers.
We wanted one always-current console that could be trusted precisely because it admits what it doesn't know.
Chamber III · The intelligence
What was built
- World-graph engine: reads live state directly from each business unit's own repository through an adapter system, merges it into one in-memory graph, and streams updates over server-sent events as files change.
- Provenance type system: every displayed value is typed Live / Derived / Estimated / Planned / Not-instrumented and badged in the UI. Unmeasured values render as an honest "not instrumented — here's what would make it real" panel. The suite reports 17% instrumented on the 2026-07-12 read — and displays that figure itself.
- Public-site projection with a leak guard: the same data projects into customer-facing marketing sites per business unit, passing through an assertion layer that strips internal vocabulary before anything reaches a public view. Tests prove the guard holds.
- DesignOS, the runtime design system: three-tier design tokens, a self-hosted variable typeface, a 51-icon SVG set, deterministic brand monograms (the same unit always hashes to the same mark — no stored assets), and provenance-aware chart primitives that refuse to draw unmeasured data.
- An automated design review board that scores the platform against 96 measurable criteria and gates ExecutiveOS CI at a 70 threshold — 83/100 on the 2026-07-12 run, with subjective criteria honestly marked "requires visual review" rather than auto-scored.
- Zero dependencies, verified: both projects are vanilla Node.js — no framework, no build step, no npm packages. DesignOS test suite: 62/62 passing, plain
node --test(executed 2026-07-12).

How it was built
Honesty is the architecture, not a caption. Making "we don't know yet" a first-class UI state shaped everything: the provenance types, the chart primitives that refuse to draw unmeasured data, the panel that explains what instrumentation would make a number real.
Each business unit owns its adapter and the core imports nothing unit-specific — so trustworthy aggregation needs no manual upkeep, and one design language scales across many brands with zero duplication. The leak guard exists because internal data flowing into public projections is the failure mode of this whole category; tests prove it holds.

What's measured next
This is internal production — in daily use as our own operating console. It is not a multi-tenant SaaS and is not presented as one. Instrumentation is expanding unit by unit; the figure is read live from the platform itself — 17% on 2026-07-12 — and moves in both directions as new signals are registered faster than they are instrumented.
